Need Help?

If you have a problem with alcohol or other drugs, there is hope. Anyone can recover, and millions have found the path to remission. If you've tried and find that you can't stop using, treatment, recovery community support, and a structured aftercare program significantly increase the chances of achieving long-term, abstinent remission.

The decision to seek treatment for a substance use disorder (SUD) is daunting, especially for lawyers. The prospect of admitting to ourselves, our families, and colleagues that we have a problem causes profound fear. Research shows that lawyers are especially sensitive to the stigma associated with addiction. We at Vivon are legal professionals who have "been there."  We can tell you that our lives in recovery are incredibly fulfilled, beyond what we could have imagined when we made the decision to seek help and remove intoxicants from our lives.

Do I Have a Problem?

If you are concerned that you may have a problem, but aren't sure, we have included the most common tests used by clinicians to assess alcohol and drug problems. Just click the links, answer the questions and score the test. You don't need to input any information into your computer browser.

SUD is Treatable

Substance use disorders are very treatable. If you are just starting your journey on the path to living a sober life, we're confident that you will find recovery communities to be welcoming, caring, supportive and non-judgmental environments. If you have already been through a treatment program and continue to struggle, a structured, monitored aftercare program substantially increases the odds of reaching long-term, sustained abstinence. Don't give up, most of us need multiple attempts before the obsession of craving is lifted.

If you can't stop on your own and your use is causing problems in your life, the only thing you have to do is reach out. It is truly that simple. You will find incredible support and a myriad of people who will welcome you, and help to dramatically ease your fear and feelings of isolation. Take a baby step and reach out. There is no commitment required.
